Aims
- To collect the information about the current practices in Medical Rehabilitation of patients with Severe Mental Illness and Conversion Disorders in the European countries.
- To publish statement about leadership of PRM Doctor, and clinical guidelines for multidisciplinary Medical Rehabilitation of patients with Severe Mental Illness.
- To publish statement about leadership of PRM Doctor, and clinical guidelines for multidisciplinary Medical Rehabilitation of patients with Conversion, or other psychological disorder, mostly characterised by neurological symptoms, without evidence of an organic etiology.
Goals
- To organize a survey to find out, what is a level of involvement of PRM doctors in different European countries in medical rehabilitation of patients with Severe Mental Illness and Conversion Disorders, and what are the types of Institutions in use for this professional process.
- To create a European network active in multidisciplinary research and rehabilitation care of patients with Severe Mental Illness and Conversion Disorders.
- To increase awareness and knowledge on the role of PRM in managing disability related to Severe Mental Illness and Conversion Disorders.
Actions planned
- Looking for professional partners among PRM doctors and rehabilitation institutions for the Committee.
- Organization of survey for collection the information from different European countries about: A) level of involvement of PRM doctors; B) types of institutions for rehabilitation of those patients; C) professional staff for rehabilitation process; D) main rehabilitation approaches.
- Organization of the educational events (Workshops), included in international congress.
- Provide educational courses on diagnosis and rehabilitation treatment for PRM trainees and experts in both fields.
- Find and share information about research in this field between PRM experts.
- Develop and publish European Professional Statements and Clinical Guidelines, or Consensus Papers for medical rehabilitation of patients with Severe Mental Illness and Conversion Disorders.
