Aims

The aim of the committee is to strengthen the clinical expertise and research for diagnosis and rehabilitation of peripheral nerve disorders from the acute phase to long term rehabilitation issues in the PRM speciality.

Goals

Assess the research activities of the ESPRM in the field of peripheral nerve disorders.
Enlarge research for diagnosis and rehabilitation of peripheral nerve disorders from the acute phase to long term rehabilitation issues in the PRM speciality.
Strengthen the clinical expertise for diagnosis and rehabilitation of peripheral nerve disorders from the acute phase to long term rehabilitation issues in the PRM speciality.

Actions planned

  1. Provide educational courses on physiology, pathophysiology and clinical presentations of peripheral nerve disorders with emphasis on peripheral nerve lesions, entrapment syndromes,
    neuritis, polyneuropathies, plexopathies and radiculopathies for PRM trainees and experts.
  2. Provide educational courses on diagnostic procedures for peripheral nerve disorders for PRM trainees and experts.
  3. Find and share information about research in this field between PRM experts.
  4. Develop guidelines and consensus papers for rehabilitation of peripheral nerve disorders for PRM experts in Europe.
  5. Develop a platform for discussion between PRM experts in Europe  on the field of peripheral nerve disorders
