The X edition of the Euro-Musculus Course, Lisbon
Hotel Sana Malhoa,
It is our great pleasure and honor to invite you to EURO-MUSCULUS – X which will be held in Lisbon, 5-8 December 2019. After having organized these courses annually since 2010, we are very much enthusiastic to announce our 10th anniversary. Likewise, we are much pleased to be organizing this year’s special event with our Portuguese colleagues who have been always the 1st or 2nd most crowded group in the previous EURO-MUSCULUS courses.
The role of ultrasound imaging has already been established in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, and the awareness/interest of physiatrists is ever-mounting worldwide. As such, we are updating the course program with new concepts and topics each year i.e. in accordance with the needs of musculoskeletal physicians and also in light of the evolving technology and accumulating body of evidence-based data in the pertinent literature.
This year our 31/2 – day event will be composed of three courses. In the 1st three days, while the participants will be studying the six joints and their common pathologies on the Basic side; they will focus more on nerves and spasticity on the Advance side. On the third day, we will study altogether several ultrasound-guided interventions that are commonplace in (daily clinical practice of) musculoskeletal medicine. Of note, this year, we are adding new sessions which will take place in the hospital and anatomy departments. Accordingly, participants will be able to experience ultrasound imaging on real patients and cadavers.
Last but not least; on the 4th day, there will be a workshop on scientific publishing. While it has been one of the EURO-MUSCULUS classics; this year we will spend extra time for ‘Let’s Write a Manuscript’ workshop. Yet, scholarly publishing might even overweigh the impact of ultrasound imaging for our specialty.
We do look forward to welcoming you all in this charming city/country. Don’t forget; ultrasound is already ‘A história de um amor’ in physiatry !
